Today starts Day 5 of my exercise streak and day 2 of my food streak. I'm feeling really good about it.
Yesterday I kept trying to talk myself out of going to the gym. I told myself "I can start both the food and exercise streak tomorrow" but I then decided if I did that I would be disappointed in myself so I got my butt to the gym. Originally my plan (before trying to talk myself out of it) was to do Week 1, Day 1 of the couch to 5K, but as I was heading into the gym I though I would try to do 30 minutes on the Arc trainer. I haven't been able to do more than 10 minutes at a time, so that was going to be a stretch, but a great calorie burner. I ended up doing 5 minutes then moved to the treadmill. I thought I would just walk for 15 minutes and then go on the bike for 10-15 minutes or go back on the Arc for 10 minutes. After 5 minutes on the treadmill I decided to do my couch 2 5k, instead of running at 5.0 like I have done in the past, I remembered everyone's advice on the nest and decided to go slow, so I ran at 4.0 and walked at 3.3. It was so easy and felt so great because I was able to get through each minute without wanting to give up. My heart rate stayed in the right range instead of going up to 175 when I ran. I feel like I'm finally getting healthy again. :) When I was done, I was so happy that I forced myself to go and didn't have to start my streak over again.
I had Gary put the scale away and I'm not weighing myself until Monday, which will be the end of this 10 day streak. It's hard though, I actually looked around this morning to see if I could find where he put the scale. He hid it well. :)
Today I've already got my food planned out and I will be going to the gym and doing at least 30 min cardio on the bike, maybe 10 minutes on the Arc and then strength training.
It feels so good to be on track!!!!
