I teach middle school art. One of my students from last year (now in 8th grade) stopped by to say hi, on her way to her next class. The conversation went like this:
"Hi Ms. Schwartz."
"Hi Lisa, how are you."
"I'm fine, you got skinny!"
"Uh, yeah, I've been working on it."
"Okay, I've gotta go now, bye!"
Wow. None of my current students have said anything. I never know what they notice or not. And kids this age rarely say anything personal to a teacher - though I'm sure they spend half their time talking about us behind our backs.
And while I'm hardly skinny, I *have* gone from a size 20/22 to a 16. (Just bought size 16 shorts this weekend. Not 16W. Plain old 16.)
And while I've lost 45 lbs, I've been plateaued for months. Months.
But Lisa totally made my day!!!!!!!
