"For He orders His angels to protect you wherever you go."
Psalm 91: 11 (The Life Recovery Bible) NLT
God wants to protect me and provide for me. What does that mean? To me it means He wants to watch over and take care of me. He cares about every part of my life. He cares about what happens to me.
When we hear the phrase "Divine Providence" what does that mean? Let's look back at the word "Providence". It is an old-fashioned word with timeless meaning. According to St. John of Damascus, "providence is the care God takes of all existing things."
Is there anything caused by coincidence? For me, there is not. I do not believe in coincidence. It is just God's way of remaining anonymous as fas as I am concerned.
What happens when my life balance is unbalanced by changes that I don't like or understand? I have been known to ask frequently, "Why me, Lord?" Then the answer comes back, as I hear myself asking,'"No Elayne, why not me?"
There are times I need to step back and take a deep breath and focus on God instead of on the problem at the time. God has promised to take care of me. He will not let me down. I can choose or not choose to be paralyzed by fear. I must try to remember that when I choose faith over fear, I am trusting that
God will make a way for me where I don't think there is a way. I can survive through my ups and downs in my life.
When I am not sure what a right decision to make is, such as what path to take or where to invest my life's energies, I need to learn to ask God for His provision and then take a step out in faith.
I remembered that today when the doctor told me that some of my tests results were abnormal and we need to do some further investigation into the possible medical concern. I am keeping in mind that I serve an awesome God. I serve a gracious Master who knows how to overrule even my mistakes to His
glory, and my own advantage. I must know that providence is at work in all of my life in unseen, mysterious, and wonderful ways.
Today I will:
* Trust in God as my provider.
* Have a positive attitude toward life because I trust in God's guidance and provision.
* Make wise choices for my health and my own well-being as well as for the health of others.
Some things I Can do:
1. Do 1 positive thing a day to reach a desired goal. (This means staying more focused on what I am eating)
2. Write in my journal about a difficult problem in my life that was resolved in an unexpected way.
3. I will remember that people such as me can make plans in my life but only God can make them come true.
Thank you for sending your angels to watch over me, and for caring so much about me. Help us all here on Spark remember that we are never alone. You and your angels are always with us.
