So I've been reading a lot of SparkPeople pages and getting a sense of what people are doing and how. I like being informed. Anyways, I got angry a couple times (well, not angry, but I did sigh out load). I think some people need to hear "what the heck are you doing!??" I'm noticing a lot of schmaltzy emotional support, but very little tough love.
Listen, if you're eating a burger king sandwich for breakfast, and a papa john pizza for lunch and dinner (Yes, I did see that), you need someone to kick your a$$. There is NEVER a good reason to eat like this, especially if you have the goal to lose weight. Then I go on to read that this person doesn't understand why she's not losing weight and says she needs to accept that God made her the way she is with all her faults and qualities.
That's all great, but, in my opinion, assume God (Allah, or whoever) granted peole free will and that it is that gift of Free Will that He wants to challenge you with. It's a Gift. take it.
I don't think this way. I believe very much that I am what I make myself out to be and take 100% accountability of what I do and don't do, but I understand that many people believe in a Great Design and that a huge portion of their lives is completely out of their control. That's great, but then, why try anything?
This isn't meant to be a review of religious doctrines, but simply saying that sometimes people are too easy on themselves or others. I would like to see the return of tough love.
