What tha?! No, really, I meant the bird.
Hello and welcome back to the Pam show...
This blog is dedicated to my Gonna Be Fit Univ Blue Mountain Dorm Team!
4 KEY STRATEGIES FOR GETTING THROUGH THXGIVING!!
I've given this a lot of thought and I will not only tell you my strategies but I will tell you why I believe it will work:
1. Everyone should take the "Holiday Calories Quiz" on SP. If you are in the dorm you know about this and probably have already taken it. I believe that I am quite the little Nutritionist when it comes to food choices but nooooo...3!!, three stinkin points out of 7. Terrible. But I learned a lot and will be using that info on Thursday.
2. Chase kids around--no, not in a threatening way. Sheesh people. There will be five kids under five at this shin-dig and they are all on the move! I will visit with them more than the adults (Uncles and Aunts-Eww) so they will keep me busier than a married man on Christmas Eve, on the last minutes the mall is open. That's right Paul, I'm lookin' at you.
3. Have a Healthy breakfast--My brother is hosting and Lord only knows what kind of "meal" he will be serving. Rumor has it my Dad is bringing over most of the food (including the turkey!). Huh?! He is so getting over. Anyway, I want to make sure that I do not hit the snax the second I get through the door.
4. And this is my fave-Virgin Mojitos-See my page for recipe or on the SP reicpes page. It's not rocket science but I did this at a party once and for all of about 7-14 cals a piece, it's a good way to keep my hands (and mouth) busy and stay hydrated. Plus lots of Vit C!! My sister if pregnant so I/we will not be "drinking-drinking" esp with all those kids I have to watch!
That is my plan thus far and I think it's a good one. Throw any suggestions my way and I will be reading all the dorm's blogs too for ideas. Have a great Holiday everyone!
