Before our church service started this morning, the pastor asked me if after her sermon I would read the poem I read for the conference last weekend; I had e-mailed it to her, & she had printed it out & brought it along. Her sermon was very thoughtful. People really responded to the poem, again, & there was some wonderful "sharing" afterward (during which people come up to the mic & make comments or ask for prayer).

For lunch I joined a group of friends from another online community I've been involved with for nearly 3 years. I was meeting all these folks for the first time in person, but we had plenty to chat about; it was fun.

Later my husband & I resumed our extended weekend date: we went to see the new Elizabeth I film & then to an Indian vegetarian buffet restaurant for supper.

Between these various places, I ended up walking quite a bit today, so there's some cardio. And careful choices meant that I went over my calorie allotment by just 100, even though it was all restaurant food. (Breakfast was leftover brunch food from yesterday!) No point for that in our new team system, but no disaster either. :-)

It was a very social but peaceful & satisfying day.

That sounds like a great day. I know it's wonderful to have your work recognized by your pastor and other members of the congregation. After reading the poem myself, I know others are more aware, and motivated to do do something about the issues you talk about in your poem. Our pastor talked about similar things today - how we should look around us and be aware of the needs in our world, and be willing to do what we can to make a difference. I agree some of the weight gain can be water - especially when we're eating out and there's probably more salt in the food. Good job staying so close to program with all that activity today.
