How Quickly I get Discouraged

I have been home from vacation for a little over a week. My vacation gain was 1 lb, which was wonderful. I was ready to find out that it would be much worse.

But I guess that 1 lb. is going to be hanging around for a while. With yesterday's weigh-in, I had not lost anything. And of course, I had been "good" all week, staying within the calorie range, exercising, etc. Once again my reward for being good is no weight loss. What a downer.

I am diet-weary. But even so, I don't dare quit because I will surely gain more if I do. I wish this were fun; I wish I could get little rewards like a bit of weight lost; I wish Iwish Iwish -- but my genie is not in her bottle these days......

  keep going and try to make goals that perhaps aren't related to the scale. A friend of mine and I walk 4 days a week at lunch time. Helps in two ways: it's hard to eat and walk at the same time!!! More important though I began feeling the muscles in my legs getting firmer in just 2 weeks. Feeling stronger and healthier is just as important as that stubborn number on the scales.

You are going to do just fine. You have people cheering for you!!!

    You can do it! Maybe your body just needs to catch up to your mind. Stick with it, rewards are in your future if you remain consistent. Take one day at a time, make one healthy choice at a time. You WILL come out a winner, by being a loser.
