In Search of the Perfect Sneaker...

Monday, September 10, 2007

I've been having a terrible time finding a new pair of sneakers for my treadmill use. I have an ancient pair of Asics which I really love, they fit just right. Been through the stores trying various brands and styles including New Balance, Reebox and others and just haven't come up with anything that compares.

I know I need to turn up something soon as my Asics are so worn that the extra rubber on the soles have all peeled off and the plastic reinforcement which cups the heel have worn through the material. To prevent the plastic from wearing away at my heel I've even grey-taped over the plastic!

Hard to believe that I'd STILL take these old jalopies over anything I can find brand new...!

I may need to check out the services of a podiatrist as my feet are a bit weird. My 2nd toe is as long as my big toe and calloused as all get-out from pushing at the end of the shoe!

Appreciate any tips folks may have.

    DDOORN'S,
Hi there.
Have you tried z-coils? As far as I'm concerned there are no other shoes for me and my husband. Can not wear anything else, evn the best made tennis shoes. The coils on these keep our backs from hurting,or anyone with bad knees, feet or extra weight that makes us hurt when we walk. We got the blue & whte tennis shoe type, there are other styles to choose from. Good Luck zcoils.com
