Concert: Trio Da Paz!

Wednesday, August 15, 2007

I've just had the good fortune of finding out that my favorite band has traveled all the way from Brasil to my neck of the woods! The concert is Monday 8/20 and I just CANNOT WAIT!!! :-)

Okay...update (8/21/2007)!

The concert was everything I hoped it would be and more!

My friend met me at the concert and we found out that the 2nd show which started at 8 would cost only half as much for those who came to the first show, and that they were performing a totally different set of music.

Well...who could resist? :-)

So it was a very full night of some of the best music ever to grace my ear canals!!

Each member of the trio was so humble, gentle, full of smiles and life! Romero Lubambo, the guitarist, introduced one song by saying "this is a little song I wrote yesterday while driving...maybe you won't like it? nevermind, we play more..." This guitarist is so absolutely phenomenal! Each of his five fingers were picking so furiously it would take 5 single-pick guitarists to keep up with him! Eyes closed during much of their performance, they all were so overtaken by the music one had such a sense that the universe was just channeling through them and they were just humble vessels, delivering audio delight to the audience.

My friend and I approached Romero during the break and we got pictures of us with Romero standing in between, arms around our shoulders, our arms around his back. Can't wait to see the pics! Got home too late to upload them. Will post when I can.

That is so cool! I think your photos are long gone, but I can picture the scene in my head. How great!
