Doing GOOD!

I realized it's been a while since I wrote a blog and I need to update things a bit. I'm now down 17.5 pounds and 13.5 inches lost. I'm staying under 1500 calories per day - with summer being here and watermelon and cantaloupe being abundant, I have no problem staying within the calorie range - actually I have to force myself to get to 1200 some days.

On the exercise front, I've been going to the fitness center 3 times per week but have backed off of that just a bit this last week or so. I started my first class for my Master's degree so I'm changing things around a bit.

My goal is to do my workouts before I start homework - gives me that added boost before I have to sit in front of the computer. My routine is to ride bike 10 miles and then run (jog) 3-4 miles. I also run with a group on Saturday morning and two weeks ago I did the 4 mile course and actually finished it in 37.54 so I shocked myself. The next time I ran the 3 mile course I had it down to 9.08/mile so I'm feeling pretty good about it.

We went backpacking in the Big Horns last week and this is the first time I've ever been in better shape then my husband - he wanted to know why we were 'racing' up the mountain and "can't we stop for a drink?" I loved it!

I've always wanted to do a marathon and I'm starting to think this may be the year - I've got a great start so I'm going to look into the Marathon in Des Moines IA in October.

And the first Master's Class has been going really well.
