February 9 2018 = week 5 completed

Friday, February 09, 2018

January 2018 has come and gone and I made some nice progress in many areas of my life in that month. I have lost 7.2 pounds for January. And am now working on having a great February

I started out February at 268.4 - total weight loss since March 7 2017 is 20.2 pounds which I am happy about.

Weight loss goal for February is to lose 4 pounds - I want to be 264.4 or less at the end of February and by the end of March I want to weigh in at 257 for a loss of 30 pounds so I have my work cut out for me.

I have just purchased a book called ' a 40 Day spiritual fitness program Christ Walk ' and I am planning on starting this program on Monday February 12 - am not sure if I am able to walk the smallest route they have outlined - 1.6 miles a day / 4,000 steps a day for 40 days but I am going to give it a try.

Am re looking at my food plan to make sure it is as healthy as possible. I have done a streak of 6 weeks with a loss each week so am now challenging myself to go for 8 weeks with a loss each week so I am having to stay focused and committed.

I am a bit behind in my reading the Bible through in One Year but am still reading daily so that is good. I will also be starting a course next week called 'The Fundamentals of Faith' by John MacArthur - one of our elders from our local church is leading the course which is 13 weeks - it is a good course for all new believer and for anyone wanting to refresh what and why they believe. My husband and I both listen to John MacArthur daily - love his teaching as he is definitely teaching the Bible without sugar coating it. Another person we enjoy listening to is Justin Peters - he has made us aware of a lot of false prophets out there showing different pastors speaking and then showing scripture that shows that the pastor is not on the right road. It is so important to make sure we are being taught by people that are not leading us astray - giving us a 'cozy comfortable feeling' when we need to hear the truth of what we are doing and how it effects our lives. We are fortunate to have a Bible believing pastor - last Sunday he talked about marriage - how it is meant to be between a man and woman - he started off by saying he understood he was going to offend a lot of people but that if they would just give him their attention he would show through Scripture the proper way a marriage is to be. He touched on same sex relationships and transgender and common law - he shared scripture that explained the rights / wrongs of these things but reminded us that we are to love them but not agree with their lifestyle. Was an eye opener to a lot of the congregation - we have in our family many that are living without the benefit of marriage and we have a lesbian and a gay family member - we love them a lot and always will but we don't agree with their lifestyle - but we still love them anyway.

It is now time for me to get up and move - the timer that I set to go off every 30 minutes is about to ding so I am going to get up before it goes off - doesn't happen all that often.

And then I need to spend some time to work on a baby blanket I am making - a pretty pink color - hoping to have it finished this weekend so that next week I can start the next one which is a pretty green.

Judges 18:6 says
Go in peace. The mission you are on is under the eye of the Lord

It sound like I would love your pastor. The church I grew up in was like that. We had a lesbian couple, I loved them and so did everyone else. A man came out as gay, he was my dentist.. We embraced him, supported his wife and children. The only negative words were that he left his wife. But that would have been the same with any couple splitting up. And all this was in the 60s. I hate to say the last church I was a member of, drove a lesbian woman out of the congregation during a Sunday service and I felt compelled to leave that church along with her (a woman I hadn't met til that day).
