January 13, 2018 PRACTICE OBEDIENCE
We all make decisions in life. Some say we make thousands of decisions a day. Our decisions are based on many things. Some decisions may be due to personal preferences. Other times we have to decide to do what is right. Then there are times we have to make hard decisions. However, there is one right decision we all should make daily. And that is to obey God. When we make the right decision in life by doing God’s will, it isn’t always going to be fun or popular. Sometimes we may be the only one who is doing His will. It may be a lonely job. However, practicing obedience to God and doing what He requires of us is always the right decision.
Micah 6:8 “No, O people, the Lord has told you what is good, and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.” (NLT)
1. Write about a part of your life that you haven’t given to God.
2. List the things you decide to do where you leave God out.
3. Know God wants to be in every part of your life.
4. Pray and obey Him seeking His will and making right decisions in obedience to Him.
Dear Lord, we want to always obey You. Help us to make right decisions today that will be in obedience to Your will for our lives. As we get going in the morning, help us to make the right decisions about our day. Remind us to decide to read Your word, pray, and obey only You. You have a right action for us today in all we do. Help us to decide to take that right action in everything we do today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
We have the choice in life to do what is right or wrong in all we do. Let’s decide to obey God.
God calls us to make the decision to do good and to obey Him.
God calls us to love mercy by sharing and giving to others.
God calls us to walk humbly with Him which means we read His word, pray, and give Him the glory.
It is possible to learn to do good when we practice obedience to God.
Isaiah 1:17 “Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the cause of orphans. Fight for the rights of widows.” (NLT)
We can do good. We can make right decisions. We can do what is right when we decide to live in obedience to God.
