I always love the first of the month...like the first of the year, it gives me the chance to start new...start fresh...and though i do try to give each day that new fresh start....the begining of the month helps me really get back on track..so here we are...the last 2 weeks i have fallin off track...with my eating and my smoking...my time of the month has came (sorry to any of the guys who might read this..lol) and i totally let my guard down.... i went to a party at a friends...everyone drinking and smoking...i was fine with my first drink...but by drink 2, i thought i could handle 1 cigarette...no big deal... that one turned into several...and then came the food...uhg....the good news though is i am still eating more vegetables and fruits than i have in the past...so though i have gotten off track with my calories, i am still eating healthier...i am still drinking my 8-12 glasses of water....and though in the last couple weeks we have resorted to fast food...i have been chosing the healthier salads and when i did give into the mcdonald french fries, it was a small instead of the super size...so i am proud of me for sticking to those goals at least...with my smoking...i've had about 1-2 a day...and though no where near my 2 pack a day...still i know the dangers and am getting back on track starting today...

    Good Job on pushing past the urge to splurge on the higher calorie items. Its hard to think clearly when you see the menu clogged up with all the fatty foods that everyone is used to eat. One day at a time and we can all meet our goals. good luck!

    Way to go on your success so far! Never forget where you started! I haven't smoked in a year and now I can't stand them at all! My husband still smokes, but thankfully he quit smoking inside for me! We all know that life is still around us, we go out, we splurge a little, we have a couple of drinks or maybe a little bit of fatty foods....just remember, one day of splurging doesn't make us fat. If you splurge one night, get right back on track the next day. If you decide to eat fast food, maybe think more about Wendys or Subway. With wendy's you can choose salads and baked potatos for your sides and with Subway they have now made healthier sides instead of just potato chips and cookies! Again, great job and good luck!

    You are still doing great! I struggle with smoking, as well, but have managed to get it down to just a few per day. I am hoping that as I add more exercise that I can totally phase out the cigs... It's hard because I feel like if I don't smoke a cig after I eat, that I will just keep eating..lol

As for the fast food, if I splurge and go to Mickey D's or whatever, I choose my fave burger, skip the fries and get a Diet Coke or a water. Or like you, if I have to have fries, I have a small one and get a salad!!

Keep doing what you're doing - sounds like you are making healthier choices and that's what it's all about!!
