Just popping in for an update.

I'm still hanging on over here. Weight loss seems uber slow right now. I've only lost maybe three pounds in the past month. I'm losing inches, however. Although I'm not due for my offical measurements until the first Thursday of July, I know I've lost over an inch off my waist already this month (I cheated and measured a week ago lol). I got a "natural waist" measurment of 34 1/2! It was around 60 inches when I started.

I'm upping the intensity of my workouts and making sure I get three full weight lifting workouts a week in. I had slacked off to one or two weight lifting sessions a week about a month ago due to some things that were going on in my personal life. I'm not the type to normally use "life is hectic" as an excuse, but I absolutely did there for a little while.

I guess since my rate of loss has tapered off so dramitcally it's just not as motivating to get on the scale week after week and not see major results like I did in the beginning. It's very normal now for me to lose a pound or two one week, then lose nothing for the next two or three. It's easier to relax your standards when the achievements aren't so awesome and awe inspiring! Not that I've fallen off the proverbial wagon, but I recently found myself in a very relaxed state regarding my weight loss. I found it to be a good thing at first. I don't like obsessing over every ounce or desperately fighting to lose weight as if I'm going to DIE if I don't shed ten pounds a month. I believe I got just a bit TOO comfortable, though, and allowed the intensity of my workouts to slack a bit as a result. My food intake seems to be fine. I'm still easily within calorie range every day and, although I still write down what I eat and tally it up, I don't have to count everything as I go anymore. I basically just eat whatever I want, but then my food choices have changed majorly from what they were a year and a half ago, so it's fairly easy 99% of the time. ;-)

I have deciced to only take my progress pictures on an "every ten pounds" schedule as of now. I have been taking monthly pics on the 18th for the past 16 months. When my 17 month anniversary came around this time, though, I just wasn't feeling all that motivated to do them. I took a couple shots and didn't feel like they showed much progress. The two or three pounds a month I've been losing just aren't enough to show much of a difference. I think pictures should be fun AND motivational, so I'm changing my plan. I seem to lose a size for every ten pounds (give or take) so I think that sounds like a nice goal to go with for the time being. Last time I took official progress pictures was on May 18th, and I was 214.9 Pounds (I think, I'll have to double check). I'll see ya at 205!
