We went to a local amusement park yesterday and wow- I did fairly well yesterday! I only really ate 1 bad thing (french fries with cheddar cheese on them), I shared them with my youngest and after I had about half of them I told my hubby I was starting to feel full (which I was not really- I knew that they were loaded with calories!) and he took over! The only other things I had at the park was 1 bottle of water (that I kept filling up at the water fountain- I have trouble spending $2.25 on each bottle of water!). While at the park i spent most of my time in Kiddie Land letting my youngest ride (I rode with her on a few rides). Every once in awhile my hubby would come with the oldest to switch out- I tried to take my oldest on a new ride- I think was called cosmic twist- it is round with seats facing out, it spins you around as it takes you back and forth in a swing motion. Needless to say, I was nervous at first, every year I always have to question 'is this the year I can't ride on these rides'. After being in line for 45 minutes- it was our turn to ride the ride- my daughter decided she did not want to go on it! I was a little bit upset- since I finally got out of Kiddie Land and told my hubby we would only be on 1 ride and I would be back! Well, I did get to go on 1 real rollercoaster with my oldest (while daddy and the youngest went to play at the arcade)- in line I was so excited- on the ride it was great until the end- someone lost their change on those little bumps towards the end of the ride- I got hit with a penny at the one corner of my eye (it hurts still- but there is no mark!) and the last bump- I almost flew out of my seat and crushed one of my "girls" on the bar. I never had so much fun while being in pain!
When we got home, we had to go to a graduation party. It is not too far from the house and we decided to walk over (which means walk through the woods!). I forgot to bring a flashlight and we were over there until a little after 9. Well me and the oldest were freezing (forgot the jackets too!)- I think it had to do with getting too much sun and we wanted to go. My hubby was in the middle of a game and he told us to go ahead to home. I had to carry my 3 year old home and that was the best workout I had besides all of that walking! Looking up and down and all around, stepping over fallen logs and the final leg home entailed a steep hill which I kept falling back down (yes I was wearing flip slops!).
All in all that is the short version of how nuts it was- I did not add getting lost or any other bad stories- but it made for a great day. Which is nice since today we are going to be doing all kinds of work (a tree top broke off and is hung up in another tree from last weeks storm). At least I know I will be working up a sweat cleaning up the yard from dropping trees (which is sad since they are very mature oaks that shade our porch). Then I will have a nice yard project on my hands!
