Yesterday a friend came over and I taught her to use the Navaho spindle. As my teacher did before me, I asked her to spin every day for two weeks and sent her off with one of my spindles, roving, carders, and lots of raw washed wool.
Since I asked her to spin, I promised her I'd spin every day for two weeks as well. So, now I'm hooked!
Another friend and I went downtown Olympia this morning, and we went to Traditions, a Folk Cafe and Fair Trade Shop. I knew from previous visits that they carried roving. Came home with six new colors to spin and make into placemats on my loom.
I''ve already done some spinning this morning....I just needed a little push ...and then I gave it to myself.
Isn't that so like our goal setting on SparkPeople? Set a goal, do something to get you going in that direction, and keep at it. Can't wait now until I can get those yarns on the loom....but I know like weightloss it will take time.
