Well, it's official - I now have a fifth grader! She insisted on having Bam-Bam join her for the annual "first day" pic on our doorstep:
The first day of school is always fun - the PTA does a presentation, there's coffee and doughnuts (I passed up both!), and there's lots of chatting and catching up with everyone you haven't seen over the summer. We've been at this school for 6 years now (Kate started here in kindergarten), so we know a lot of people!
Plowed through a big stack of bills and stuff yesterday afternoon, then we ended up having friends over for dinner last night. Nice to sit out in the backyard and dine "al fresco," even though it was hot!
But I guess everything caught up with me, because I just could NOT get out of bed to work out this morning. Didn't help that Bam-Bam was so exhausted from all the activities yesterday that she not only didn't wake us up before the alarm like she usually does, but she barely even moved when the alarm went off. LOL! If Paul had gotten his butt out of bed and taken her for a walk, I would have gotten up, but since the pooch was snoring neither of us felt a real need to take her out! So, I broke my streak...but 25 days in a row ain't nothing to sneeze at. ;-)
Work will be super quiet for a few months now, sooo nice. I'm eating lunch at my desk since I got in so late, plus I'm trying to re-jigger the Girl Scout calendar, ugh...I finally had the schedule down, and I emailed it to all the moms a few weeks ago, but naturally I got an evite to one of the girls' birthday party last night and it's for the exact day and time of our first meeting. ARGH! I can't tell you how many times this has happened...I love our moms, but they are really hard to pin down on schedules. Sigh...
Well, back to the madness. Happy "Monday," all!
