Week One - 8/29/14

I am still focusing on Goal 1 and that is, "Choosing Healthier and Nutritious Foods for my Mind, Body & Soul." Probably moreso, now that my injury from Feb 2013 along with the two surgeries from the incident, the last surgery in December 2013, I need to eat healthier to protect my bones since the bones are no longer strong as they were before the ankle bones were broken through my slip on black ice. Presently, I have a metal plate on the left side of my lower leg. I have met quite a few folks with metal in their legs since my injury. Yes, neat scars! I love Cigna's advertisement, "Go You." "While society may see a scar as an imperfection to cover up, we see what you should embrace. It's just one of the many things that make you an amazingly, wonderfully unique person." MARIECLAIRE.COM Dec 2013. p133. Print. Also, finding and reading ads, articles and etc of this nature is truly an inspiration for my mind personally.

    Welcome to SparkPeople. We are all here for the same reason, no matter what our personal story is. We are here to help each other to get to that healthy point we want to be in our lives. It is not going to be easy, but it is attainable. I have found that changing things up is the way to start weight loss. Make small goals and they will lead to big successes.
