I got on my new treadmill Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. I could do increasingly longer slow walks each day. Saturday was 1/2 mile (3 separate times), Sunday I walked 1 mile (3 separate times), and yesterday 1.25 miles (twice). Yesterday I managed over 15,000 steps which used to be my normal! But I was sore sore sore at the end of the day.
Today I see the chiropractor in the morning and have an appointment at a physical therapy office in the afternoon. In between I have to go to the medical doctor and try to get a referral for the physical therapist. This clinic has a therapist trained in the Graston Method, a soft-tissue therapy that Watermellen said worked wonders for her. It sounds like it might be helpful.
But any rate, I am optimistic that I am on the mend. I am doing everything I can, and I still have over 5 weeks before our trip.
In the meantime, I'm tightening up my nutrition. Made a Sausage & Kale soup with coconut milk yesterday, and looking forward to having it for lunch!
My mother has chemotherapy this morning and an appointment with the radiation oncologist this afternoon.
