Looking for Motivation

Sunday, August 31, 2014

I've lost my mojo. Has anybody seen it? *sigh*

Life's so busy, but I'm not the only busy person. I don't want to use "busy" as an excuse, but it's still a fact of life, especially right now. I'm three months away from finishing graduate school, so my free time will look much different after December 1. I don't want to let my health keep sliding between now and then, though.

So I'm looking for ways to stay motivated and make small changes. Ideas and weight loss buddies (especially those looking to lose 100+ lbs) welcome!

I need to plan every night what I am going to do each day. I put food, diet, list of things I need to do on my smartphone and then erase them as I accomplish them. It gives me little things to look forward to and gives me a sense of accomplishment throughout the day.

    Hi Leslie!

I sent you an invite to a 30 Day Running Challenge on FB. These Challenges are Fun and very Motivating. Sometimes I find it hard to meet up with friends since I have become Caregiver for elder mother and my Life is Busy all the time. Doing these online Challenges have Worked for me.
The 10 Minute Coach Nichole Videos are great too! That's how I started back to Sparking after falling out. I was gradually building back by spreading out the Cardio to fit my busy schedule.

Stop by the Raleigh Team Chat Thread and let us know how you are doing..

Too bad you didn't live closer. We could walk the city and make bookcrossing releases! I know all about losing the mojo. I think one of the biggest motivators for me is when I keep checking in with Sparkpeople. Every time I stop checking in I start to wander off course. And wandering off course is easy for me to do with anything its just how I am. I get distracted easy. Another motivator is my Spark Activity Tracker. It really does help me. Because I will look down and see the lights and say ooh may I should lo a little walking. Hang in there and try to decide what one small change you can make today that will over time make an impact. emoticon

When you feel like you want to quit, give up, and give in ... remember why you started in the first place.

You can do this. I would be happy to be your spark friend.

I used to be about 350 lbs, about 2 years ago.

Now I am down to 235.

I am over halfway to my goal of 155.

What helps me most is eating mostly veggies (about 75% of my food), and walking, jogging, anything to keep me moving.

I track all my steps with my fitbit.com activitiy tracker and that helps me too.

Sometimes I get discouraged but I count my blessings, look at how far I have come and imagine how good it will feel when I reach my goal!

You can do this!

May God bless you and your loved ones and help you reach your goals and keep you motivated

I am disabled but counting my blessings every day!
