Today we went to the eye DR.

Friday, August 29, 2014

We were there for four and a half hours. There were so man people there it was standing room only.
DH has ARMD, Glaucoma and also cataracts. The Dr has decided to leave the right eye alone and he will do the left eye in the hope he can see clearer and longer. It is what it is and we have to adjust to it.
Together we can do it. I am hoping we can take a few trips this fall but so far this year we have not gone far away from Central Maine.
It has been a year of stress but we do our best to stay upbeat as we can. I did more yard work as soon as I have got home. I am hoping it will be easier when I have to use the snow blower. I have used it off and on for years but DH calls it playing in the snow.
Tomorrow our other DIL is coming over with our Grandson. They will take Tegan back to NY because they have to go back to school next Thursday.
Thanks for all the support . This year I have written my blogs and have been unable to thank you all for the support. Thanks Spark friends. Pat in Maine.

The "waiting" is sometimes worse than anything. It sure puts "patience" to the test of time.

Prayers and Blessings coming your way. emoticon emoticon

I hope the stress is over for you soon and that you and your hubby can get back to doing things you love like taking your trips. Maybe you should do that anyway.

Love you and am praying for you. Understand not being able to respond to all who follow our blogs, I'm struggling with the same thing.
Sorry for the stressful eye doctor appointment, hugs for both you and Fred. I hope you get a slight relief from stress soon.

Thanks for your blogs, Pat. They help motivate me and keep me coming back to SP when I start to stray from the path. Hope the Dr. can help your DH with his eyes. Keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers. I'm so glad you got to see all of your grandchildren this summer.

Please give DH a big hug for me. I know it's not easy and a little scarey for both of you. Think of you often.

Any human being that lets another wait for four hours is greedy. Period. NO excuses about being the only guy around. or the best in their field.. bull! Schedule with the patient in mind.. get a partner, get a watch, get real!!
whatever.. It is the most selfish and inconsiderate thing ever. Shame on them.

SO glad the kids got to visit.. what a busy year for you all!

Sorry you had to wait so long at the doctor's Pat.
Poor Fred, I hope that he will be able to see better
when the operation is over. Have they given a date
for the surgery? Seems that your GD has just arrived
and now she is leaving. I hope you enjoyed the time
with the grandkids. Stay positive dear Pat. emoticon

That is a ridiculous long wait. Why would you have people come in to only wait for a later appt. time slot? I used to work in a dr. office and that was my BIG pet peeve. Worked with the dr. to put plans in place to make that a rare occurrence. Hope the dr. have the tools at hand to help your husband keep his eyesight as long as possible.

My summer has been stressful too. I didn't work summer school in the hopes of being refreshed for the fall. Didn't even get to go for a walk with you again on the rail trail. Maybe this fall? I am starting the school year after opening meetings and trainings wondering what they (administrators) are thinking? Reams of paperwork and new programs are being required all at once.

I do hope your DG is enjoying going to school. I homeschooled my girls for a few years and they enjoyed going to school. Both have their positives and negatives.

I know what you mean about yard work. I like a cultivated yard. It is a lot of work though and winter puts it to sleep for a break. My husband is tall and he bought our snow blower. But I am the one who is usually home with snow days. So, I am the one most time with the job of snow removal. It is good exercise, but our blower is large for a large drive and yard. Can be a bit of a tug of war to go this way or that, but it pretty much moves itself along. Much better than shoveling, which we did in years past when we were younger and dead broke. Interesting to see how much moving of snow we will need to do this winter.

Wow, September next week already.....Where did the time go.

So glad you had some time with your DGD

I sympathise with Fred. I know what it is like for me loosing my vision. I hope they can get the one eye so he can see somewhat better.

Take care. (((HUGS)))
