Lots have happened since I broke my ankle. It has totally healed even though the Dr said I wouldn't get all movement back! I love our PT team, they're awesome people!
Last year I was diagnosed with pre-diabetes, meaning my numbers were too high for a non-diabetic and too low to be diagnosed with diabetes. But I bought a meter and began testing myself. Then when I broke my anke in Feb, I put myself on the Atkins Diet. Wow, has that made a difference. I have lost 57 lbs since February 15th, I look a lot better and have more energy plus my blood sugar numbers have dropped some! I want my blood sugar levels to get back to normal, non diabetic numbers. I can do this, I just have to eat very low carb foods. Whenever I eat sweets, pastas, rice, corn, potatoes, dairy (with the exception of low carb yogurt and ricotta cheese) my blood sugar numbers climb to unacceptable levels. So I know I can control my BS levels with my diet and exercise without the use of drugs...so far!!!
This last month I've been having a hard time sticking with my diet so I've doubled my efforts and found some help here on Spark People! I'm claiming back my health and staying on track!!! Yeah!!!!
