Body Aches - Not the Flu, but Caffeine Withdrawals

Monday, August 25, 2014

This is Day 3, friends!!!!!!!!! Hooray for me. And thank you all for the kind support. It really does help.

As I've written, this weaning process has been kinder and gentler than cold turkey that I've done previously. Headache was minimal for the first two days, and pretty much gone now. Wow; compared with almost a week of a migraine when I went cold turkey.

But yesterday (and today, but less so), my body ached from head to toe. I thought I was getting the flu or something, but then remembered that this is part of my process. Been there before. Honestly, every bone seemed to just be crying out for caffeine. Strange that the withdrawals are this strong considering I drank so little each day.

Today, I feel like a rag doll or scarecrow, just limbs flopping around without a skeletal system to hold it up. But aches are just hardly there and will probably be gone soon.

Again, thank you for your support. It helps a lot.

Wishing all a great day.

p.s. On several websites, while researching detox symptoms from caffeine, they do mention these types of aches. I've had them before when I gave up coffee. In fact, there were times when my adrenals ached until the caffeine was completely out of my body.

It stinks that our bodies rebel when we're trying to live cleaner. Just continue to give yourself kindness, time & space.

Be well! emoticon

This is why I hate coffee. I know people love it but it's poison to people like you and me. And it's highly addictive. People make excuses for why they have to have it - just like junkies. It may make you more alert and help certain conditions but at what cost? Coffee really is terrible. It's no different than any other drug, It's just legal. I'm so proud of you for realizing this isn't good for you. It's not. And you are smart and brave and are not rationalizing that it is. Stick with it. Get rid of this crap. I'm never drinking it again.

I read an article recently said something like caffeine affects two different kinds of people first group feels all the benefits more energy less depression etc second group feel all the bad effects and it makes them feel sick sometimes when drinking and giving it up . good luck so glad it doesn't rule my life anymore hugs
