Undergarments for Activity

Sunday, August 24, 2014

SparkFriends make the good times even better! Thanks to all 23 Sparkers who shared in my victory yesterday!

Back to my reliving of how I got active which will lead up to a blog on how I pack a gym bag. I wrote about keeping athletic shoes and socks in my trunk and getting out of the office, usually to a park, for lunch, and walking around the block or downtown for breaks. As I got more active one annoyance was how often my bra straps fell down off my shoulders onto my upper arms. I disliked walking while tugging on bra straps. When I was overweight my rounded shoulders made this problem significant. I didn't like wearing a sports bra all day and really didn't need that level of support for a walk, but I did need the straps to stay up. At one point I used shoe strings to tie up my bra straps behind my neck. That helped. But then I found a bra style that works great for me, Playtex Secrets style 4738. It provided almost as much support as a sports bra and the straps never fell down. While the bra that works for you may be different than the one that works for me, I encourage you to keep looking until you find just the right one. It really makes a difference.

I just wear bras with wider straps or a T-back. It kind of takes care of itself. I am glad that you found something that works for you!

You are so right -- having those supportive foundations is important in undies (and of course in friends too!!)

Hmmm. You mean those annoying straps are a chubby lady thing? Drat. Another note for the Beck card.

Find what works and stay with it. How annoying when undergarments have a mind of their own LOL!

Still looking for panties that are comfortable and wick. I'm just reluctant to spend the $$$$$.

Oh for sure finding the right bra makes a huge difference. I had trouble with straps digging all the time until I got a very expensive bra fitted for me and discovered a world of difference. Unfortunately, its always been a monumental struggle for me getting bras on, and I spin them around to the front to latch, but that doesn't work well with only one good arm :-(

Definitely the undies need to be comfortable-bras and panties!

Man, I agree! I love Moving Comforts Fiona sports bra so much I wear it 90% of the time! My sister thinks it makes me look "flat" but it is so comfortable I really don't care.

If you don't have a good bra, it can make a difference in your overall day. emoticon

I love the title! I had the best running bra for years made by champion. They stopped making it! Now I have a VERY expensive Wacol bra from Macy's that I love. I'm going to check out the playtex one.

I agree and finally found the perfect bra's at Macys. I hate underwires so I finally found some perfectly soft and supportive and best of all, no underwire to poke me.

One of the local running stores had a bra fitting night in the spring. That was a big help in finding a running bra that fits.
