Last Day of Babysitting

Thursday, August 21, 2014

Today was the last full day of babysitting that we will do for our little GD.
Tomorrow her mom will be home. Saturday her Dad will be home as well, and her big brother will return from his stay with his other grandparents in Texas.
Sunday is the big party for her third birthday.
On Monday my DH and I will fly home to Connecticut.

This morning we took our little girl over to the Bay Area Discovery Museum, and this afternoon we returned with her to the hotel pool for more fun.

Then we all went out for Mexican food for dinner.
I ordered a Mexican salad topped with shrimp and containing black beans and lots of salsa.
It all kept me within my limits for the day - and never did I feel as if I were denying myself a thing.

Afterward my DH and I took a 50-minute walk outside our hotel along the Berkeley side of the bay. The views of San Francisco were spectacular.

It was another good day.

During this trip I have felt as if I am spending more time with my body.

That sounds strange, I know, but it seems the best way to describe how it feels these days when I am being so physically active.

I am walking more. I have been swimming in the pool twice this week. I am showering more during the day and changing my clothing more often.

And it all feels good.

I don't like how every part of me looks, especially in a bathing suit, but I'm working on that -- and I can expect improvement in the future.

Overall, my body works pretty well for me, and I am enjoying it.

It has been a good vacation for you. Doesn't it feel good to connect with your body and to appreciate it. I don't like the way I look in a suit either, but I wear one! I also am finding that the longer I maintain, the more I like my body and new muscles.

I love the way you phrased this: "During this trip I have felt as if I am spending more time with my body."

A part of me just said, "Yes! She captured it!" emoticon emoticon

Getting in touch with the physical you is a wonderful feeling and nothing brings that out more than spending time in physical activity -- even showering and changing clothes. I think it's wonderful you've had this time together with your granddaughter and yourself to really enjoy one of life's great pleasures -- movement.

A healthy body is more important that what it looks like on the outside. Sounds like you are feeling good and that is most important. emoticon
