So Often, I Think about Moving to Canada. Caffeine Detox Progress.

Thursday, August 21, 2014

Where is the warmest part? How do I make a living as a foreigner? (have many skills and much experience) I'll have to do a lot of research. Is there anyone out there who has relocated? Or native Canadians with any advice? I've researched moving to another state, but will inherit some of the same problems there that are plaguing this country. Yes, I do love my country. But I am sad, disheartened, angry, etc. at so much of what is going down.

Caffeine detox is slow. This time around, I'm going for the gradual weaning and am now down to a quarter of a small mug of coffee daily. However, when the caffeine headache rolls around, I reluctantly cling to that little amount to keep it at bay. Too much going on to add that famous migraine to my days right now.

I'll be happy when this summer heat is gone, although the next two months are usually roasty toasty here. Air conditioning makes me feel awful, but a necessary evil. Not to mention the sky-high utility bill that ensues a/s usage.

Hope all are doing well and wishing you a happy, healthy day.

There are pluses and minuses everywhere. When scoping out an area for what you value most, see if it outweighs the minuses.

I'm ready to go when you are , we'll make it ! Jess , you would not believe what happened yesterday , I arrive at Moms to discover that all her perennial potted plants were stolen from the front of her home ! Chicago is the sewer pit of the Country as well as its suburbs filled with low life thieves and greedy politicians . I am not joking again had to a file another police report , value of pots and plants over $2,000.00 its not the material stuff that bothers me - what these thieves stole from me and my Mom was the thought that of safety in home that they paid for and pay taxes - do not get all the freebies like the losers in this Country that are here illegally - I am just as frustrated as you are - I love my Country but , realistically this is no longer OUR Country its been given away to gangs and dirty politicians and now in our country we are waiting for Healthcare - long lines look at the Vets - welcome to the new controlled and forced healthcare - I am paying more than my mortgage for health insurance that I have always paid for to cover people that steal from the system - had enough , MY Mom , elderly was losing blood and had to wait a month and a half for a procedure - just like the vets - Hugs K

I just think about the crazy health care system here. I don't need to continue, as I know you know what I'm talking about. I say do it...and by that, I mean, just do it :) I love adventures!

I hope you find where you want to be and to be happy there. I understand being unhappy with the way things are in this country.

Moving to another country is a big change, I think it's a good idea to get some perspective from the people who live where you are considering moving to. I know if you do it though, it will be a carefully thought out decision. I'm afraid I don't have any helpful advice, but I wish you all the best as you make a decision.

I'm in a mode where I am equivocating. Not sure whether I want to continue to pursue advancement in my field or to be more retiring and follow more personal pursuits. This indecisiveness is not good because you don't push or pull you just standstill and you become unsatisfied. I'll continue to mull options and I guess the decision will reveal itself.

I have friends who have moved to other countries - from what I gather from their experience you just exchange one set of problems for others or the same problems. I have friends who live in Canada and although they have universal health care you will often have to wait long periods, unlike in the U.S. Check it out - there are tons of online articles about it. They have many of the same problems that America has. There is no perfect country to live in.

I used to live in Germany, and I loved it there. I was in the Army and stationed there for 2 years. The only thing I didn't like was the snow, as I grew up with so much snow in my life, that kept us indoors at times, as it was so bad. So, if you don't mind the snow, Germany would be a nice place. It's the cleanest country I've ever been in!

I feel your pain from the words I read, concerning your Caffeine detox. I pray that God helps you through this endeavor, and brings you out as PURE GOLD!!! Just rest in His mighty and capable arms, and let Him carry you, right now.
