From my previous blog, I noted that there were some goals that I wanted to accomplish for specific timelines. This week's:
1) A big goal for the week. Something that will be hard for you, and also rewarding!
- This week, I plan to work on just waking early. I have a friend texting me and my primary alarm set for 5:30 and my second alarm set for 6am. Just the practice of getting up early should help slowly move me into waking and doing a morning workout of some sort before my kids and husband wake and before I start work.
To report so far:
Day 1- Awake at 5:38am and several texts later... downstairs with coffee by 6:18am... not great, but establishing a routine is just starting...
Day 2- Better! Awake at 5:32am and replied to text much quicker than yesterday! YAY! AND downstairs with coffee by 5:55am! FABULOUS!
I think I am making this more successful by being in bed by 9:30-10pm each night. Getting good sleep is what I strive for because I am a sleeper. However, there was a REM cycle interruption at like 1am from one of our littles but I was NOT getting out of bed! The other thing is that I have it written out and shared with so many people! The group who challenged it, you wonderful Sparkers, a couple of my personal friends... That's the kicker there. The personal accountability to you all and especially my texter friend! How awesome, right!?
By the end of the week, I hope to be awake enough to get in some fitness. I'm thinking I will start with walking the dogs for a bit while it's still nice here. I also need to keep this routine going through the weekends.
Saturday shouldn't be too hard as I have a Run or Dye 5K with my friends. Sunday may prove difficult.
More reports to come! Keep cheering me on! That's a big motivator there!
