Okay, so as my eldest son says "you do it to yourself mom, why do you schedule so much in one week"
Last week the painters began by patching, moving furniture away from walls and moving stuff in general in the four rooms being painted. I had already removed stuff from on top of the mantle, the desk, etc all over except my coffee pot and Erik's in the kitchen. It was pointed out to me that Cuckoo would have to come down Monday morning and my bookcase needed to be emptied so it didn't break when the moved it. So I put all the books under my bedroom window (not a smart move)
I ended the week with Erik at his brothers which made the disorder in the house less stressful for him-not for me.
Saturday I spent the afternoon with friends at the parish picnic, I limited my food and wine to reasonable amounts and mostly good choices from what I could.
Sunday: Mass, breakfast with friends at Papa Jack's (pancake), went to the library for a Prayer shawl knitting book and some novels, dinner at Steven's & brought Erik home.
Monday after breakfast I put away the coffee pots, took the Cuckoo clock down and removed a few more things I noticed. I suddenly realized that the alarm tech was going to be here and he wouldn't be able to access the window in my closet where I put all the paintings and wall decor on a table in front of it-so I had to clear that off, then I looked and realized I had to clear a path through the books-what a pain in my back. The alarm guy came to re-connect the alarm to all the windows, the painters came and started covering furniture in clusters, and banished Erik and I from the main living space in my house. Erik went to Glancy-not so bad for him, but I was stuck in my office with my knitting, a book and a computer-I did NOT work on financials as I should have the mess in here is overwhelming with stuff from the kitchen, living room, dining room and sunroom crowding in around me. Erik and I ate lunch and dinner OUT and it wasn't healty or logged. No walking, I should have.
Tuesday we made a space for Erik to eat at the table, moving the blinds and plastic Pedro had put on it. I ate a banana with peanut butter made coffee, then put the coffee pot back in my office. Erik went off with Sarah. More time in my office but Pedro left his crew finishing up while he went and got supplies for his next job. By 11:30 I was getting "Miss, where goes this?" so I went out to see my fully repainted rooms, the guys put all the furniture back where I wanted it after sweeping and damp mopping the floors with only a few streaks. When Pedro got back he hung my big picture over the fire place, my tapestry in the dining room and the roll shades in the sunroom and kitchen, I paid him and began dusting stuff and rehanging-I'm almost there.
Wednesday I got out of the house and did the grocery shopping. Then I put more stuff up. I still have some to go. Oh and I finished the second book of the week. My back was killing me so I didn't do much, except get an appointment for Saturday with my chiropractor. My bug man came. Forget the lawn I called the second person to give me an estimate on the walkway after checking his references-he didn't answer. Made a dinner, salad, baked sweet potatoes and chicken breasts-but I over cooked them-too dry for Erik and me.
Thursday I went for a walk-early. Then I worked a little around the house. Erik needed help with his exercises Sarah gave him since she had surgery and will not be back till Monday.
Had a message from the landscaper, he's mowing my lawn for me Saturday, Went to the eye doctor, got my eyes dialated and went out to dinner with my two sons and DIL. Again, not the best choices but I tried to watch the amount I ingested.
Today I'm going to Mass, on the way I have to stop at the grocery store and see if I can fix my mistake-I bought Erik liquid stevia instead of the tablet form he got in Europe-we're out. Then the man from LZBoy will come to fix my two wingback recliners and the back of my couch. I hope to get more stuff out of my office, the garage, my master closet and bedroom.
Goal today finish replacing books on bookcase, walking and back exercises. Maybe get some of my tins back on the kitchen cabinets. OH and make a healthy dinner.
Tomorrow: Chiropractor and my birthday party at Steven & Kims....grilled chicken, large salad, corn on the cob and banana nut cake with lightly sweetened whip cream in place of frosting.
My favorites except the chicken-but I have to try to eat well even if it is my party. I will be celebrating until Monday the 18th when I'll be 66 at around 11:56PM.
Okay not active but stressed, looking back I could see where I could have fit at least a few short walks-I'll do better next week.
