I MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO CONTINUE ON SP DUE TO SP AD VIRUS

Thursday, August 14, 2014

This is not just another annoying pop-up, as I've grown used to the massive number of ads on SP. (yes, I know the drill - it keeps it free)

As of last night and into today, this ad pops up with every single click on this site. And sometimes in the middle of what I'm doing. I've tried everything to stop it, but it is like a virus or something. It's a Teavana ad.

It's not just a once-in awhile thing, but constant. I've notified the Help Desk, but they've never been responsive in the past, so not sure if anything will help.

In case I disappear, it's because it persists and obstructs my usage. Picture yourself with every single click on this site being a pop up. Last night, I counted 40 times and today I've lost count.

Wishing all a good day.

(P.S. I JUST DID A POP UP BLOCKER AND HOPE IT WORKS.)

Maybe try Malwarebytes (I am using the free version) to get rid of the virus and AdBlock (also a free version) will keep ads off.

I've had the same problem lately and got so frustrated. It only happens on my Spark site!
I'm not sure what helped me but I installed a CCleaner and run that every morning before I begin even reading my mail!
Good luck with it, I know how annoying and time consuming those pop ups can be!

I use the same as MOM2ACAT and haven't had issues like you are having. That's got to be frustrating.
Hope you can get it sorted out. emoticon

I feel the same way the same one with every mouse click but only at SP, they have an opt out selection that doesn't work

I use Chrome's ad blocker, and it blocks all the ads on SP. I'm so glad not to have to put up with them any more. I found many of them highly inappropriate.

I had another Spark friend leave recently because of the ads, I would hate to see you leave too, I'd miss you!

I use Firefox as my browser, and I have an ad and a pop up blocker; it works great, because I never see any ads while I am here.

I too used to experience that on spark - one of the many reasons I stopped - this time around - I installed Malwarebytes in my system for 20.00 a year - the best purchase I have ever bought - you are not the only one with this awful experience - my buddy Jackie as well - Malwarebytes also has software for smart phones or I pads - I only purchased for my CPU and no longer have this issue - if you choose to go - I know how to get a hold of you - question for you - will be in Phoenix in Nov. will send email . Jesse,

Bless your heart, I know how annoying those pop-ups can be and they're also very frustrating. I know these ads, keep this site free, but sometimes it can be a bit much. I pray that SP can find a solution for you, as I value you insight on matters.

    Blessings!
