That major storm that drowned us yesterday is continuing today,, we have a flooded basement. DD has been using the steam cleaner and shop vac to suck up the gallons upon gallons of water.. Thank goodness we got our storm drains update d about 17 years ago!!
Since the county administrator was called regarding some paperwork for mom and she did not even know what DPOA meant, then told me to hire an attorney to find out if my signature was legal to sign after moms, as her DPOA..

I drove over to mom's and just had her sign the paper,, All it was, is a paper enrolling her in a direct deposit of her county retirement check(monthly) instead of getting a paper check in the mail.. I have been signing my name to it for about five years, no problem,, but this woman did not even know what DPOA meant!! I want her job...

We made it home in the constant downpour, monitoring the basement..

I have been very quiet all day since learning of Robin William's death..He is one of our home boys,, from Detroit.. so sad ,, I was hoping that with his many stints in rehab for cross addiction, he would find his faith and practice it, find peace..
I hope he is at peace now..

BTW to the Sparker that inquired about the Christmas gifts: Part of them will be dropped off within 45 minutes of our home, the rest will be a six hour drive, but only 60 miles from our motel in Newberry,MI.

So sorry to hear about the flooding, that's a major bummer. One of the few advantages of being on the second floor. If we get flooded here, nothing but an Ark would save us.

Robin Williams' death is so sad. I never saw many of his movies cause comedies aren't my thing, but I appreciate what he did and how much happiness he brought to people. So sad he couldn't have that for himself.

So close to vacation time! Woo hoo!

I heard a lot about that storm and floods. Oh goodness. One friends husband ws on the wy homne from work and left his car and alked the rest of the way home and it took him hours to get home.

robin williams was so loved nd admied by all of my family. he was an alcoholic and recovering which put him into a depression. it's understandable. If you suspect someone to be depressed give them tons of love.

I'm so sorry your basement flooded. We got lucky and didn't flood, but my parents weren't so lucky. It's rained here today, but it sounds like you are still getting more than me.

You've got to love those government workers!!

It is very sad about Robin Williams, especially since he is from here. He will be missed. :(

Unbelievable! I was DPOA for my mom and everyone knew what it was. That is scary about the county administrator...the world continues to fall apart.

Many were saddened by Robin Williams...I have always heard that comedians/comediennes are all very insecure and that is why they do what they do. So much sadness in the world!

It's almost here....V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N emoticon
