49 days left!

Tuesday, August 12, 2014

Yes, I'm counting down! I have 49 days left on active duty. 49 days left living in Colorado! So exciting!

I'm checking lots of stuff off my To-Do list, but still have lots to get done.

So far, I've:
* completed and mailed back my background investigation paperwork
* reopened my pergola permit
* had my final inspection for my pergola, and passed
* ordered a new social security card
* ordered my certificate of good standing from the NJ state bar

Still need to:
* hire a painter for my pergola
* hire a property manager and get my house on the rental market
* finish my national guard paperwork

I'm also slowly cleaning my house, going through my things, and plan to mail some stuff back to my parents that I dont want in storage for a few months, like dvds and craft materials, and I have a bunch of boxes in my garage that I need to break down and take to the recycling center. But so far, I feel like I'm making quite a bit of progress!

I just found out that I need to fly back to NJ next week to get my drug test/physical exam taken care of. All of my pre-employment stuff (drug test/physical/background investigaiton) needs to be completed by mid-September so that my employment can be approved at the September board of freeholders meeting. If not, then it will be at the October meeting, and I wont be able to start working until November. I really dont want to take an entire month off working, so I'm hoping it will all be done sooner :)

I'm winding down on clients right now and should be almost completely done with substantive work by the end of this month I hope, which will leave me time in September for taking care of last minute stuff and the movers are coming then, too.

I still have some outprocessing to do, but for the most part things have been going very efficiently. Today I WILL go and take care of the rest of my medical stuff, like requesting copies of my records, etc.

Really, I am just so happy that everything seems to be falling into place and I am so looking forward to moving in 49 days!!

I've starting doing morning workouts again - ok, for 2 days so far this week, but surprisingly, it hasnt been difficult to get up and I'm feeling better about getting in my workouts. I've been slacking on my mid-week runs lately, so I am really pushing myself to get them in since this week starts my loooong runs. I have a 14 miler this weekend! I've only run 14 miles once, and it was rough, so I'm a bit intimidated by my upcoming run this weekend!

I'm going to try this week to catch up on all of my friends here at SP! I also started blogging on my personal blog again :)

14 mile run - have fun! I am only up to 6 miles right now. It is way to hot in Houston to run for that long emoticon
