This return to balance process has greatly challenged me, and I am hugely humbled by the experience.
I will not let this frustration I am experiencing get the best of me. I am up another pound after having one slice of bread yesterday. Going to keep going as best I can and learn from my many mistakes these past 8 months. I am still really confused about how to achieve my goals but I will emphasize the clarity I have gained and move in that direction. I am now keeping a food, exercise & weight log on paper in my day planner so I can know for sure what is working and what is not. I am no longer in a state of denial about how sedentary I have become-that is a breakthrough for this week at least! I used to run 3 to 4 times per week and right now I maybe go once per week on average. I sit around far too much. One of my new goals is to get at least 30 minutes of exercise in every day. Either dance, running or yoga. I am not sure whether to remove all grains or just limit them yet. In the recent past since I have been at this the only time I was actually getting markedly good results was when I was doing the Dr. Fuhrman ETL 6WP, but I was hungry ALL the time. But in the past 8 months I have been doing McDougall plan and have lost near to nothing, losing and gaining back the same several pounds only since the beginning of year. I have experienced a general improvement in my health, and alleviated or reduced many former complaints. :)
I am going on family vacation to a cabin in the forest this week, and will need to do my best to stay on track but also make a little room for festivities. There will be ample time for much exercise of all sorts, and I am aiming for at least an hour per day while there. Swimming, biking, hiking, running, walking & possibly horseback riding and kayaking may happen!
