Grocery day...

Woke up this morning at like 10:30 and couldn't sleep anymore. I was hoping to sleep later than that to avoid boredom, but alas, it wasn't to be. So I got up and ate a frozen burrito and sat around on the computer. Didn't do much of anything, to be honest.

Later I got hungry again and ate a veggie burger. After that I was finally motivated enough to go clean out the fridge. That was the main thing on my list to do today, and I did it. I wasn't motivated to do anything else though. I found {yet another} budgeting site, and I played with that for quite a while. Other than that, I just talked to a couple friends online while I waited for it to be time to wake dh up.

When it was finally time, we went out and ate. We had Mexican. I showed more restraint this time than last time, but it still wasn't good. I didn't feel like I was so stuffed I need to be rolled out of there afterward, so it was an improvement. After we ate we went to a bunch of stores to gather all our groceries for the week. Nothing exciting to report on that front. Other than that we managed not to spend a fortune this week, which is kind of a miracle.

Once all our groceries were bought, we drove home. By the time we got home my belly was very upset. Half hurting like something I ate didn't agree with me, and some vicious TOM cramping. I felt like crap. We did get all the groceries put away, but after that I plopped down on the couch and haven't really moved.

After a while my belly settled down enough for me to be a little hungry, but not super hungry, so I just had one of my small homemade frozen meals and was satisfied. So even though I ate Mexican, and have certainly had too much food in general, I am happy to say I'm getting a lot better at not throwing the whole day away over one imperfection. If I can just truly master the art of not letting one bad meal ruin me for a day or even a week or weeks, I will be a lot better off. It's not the single meal that's the problem, it's the string of eating crap that follows it that's my real problem. Later tonight I'm going to have some fresh blackberries and cottage cheese and maybe some popcorn. Something relatively healthy.

Tomorrow I am for real going to clean out the cabinet in the kitchen I have been saying I'm going to clean out all week. It really needs it. There's so much stuff in there that needs to be thrown away, and we really need the storage space. I'm going to make food for us also, of course. And tomorrow will be healthier. No restaurant food, just food from home. I'm also going to try to work in my room a little, just to burn a few calories if nothing else.

For the rest of tonight, nothing special planned. Just reading and relaxing. I've had a miserable time falling asleep all week, so I'm REALLY hoping tonight will be better. I hate laying there and not being able to think cause my mind wont shut up and leave me be. I wish it had an off button.

    Everything doesn't have to be done at once. Take your time and do one thing per day and see how that makes you feel. You do have a goal for each day which is Great. Not many people will consider doing that. As for your sleeping, I have the same problem. My mind doesn't have an on/off button. I have found that Melatonin 5 mg does help with making me sleepy.

I hope your stomach feels better and have fun cooking. emoticon

    God job at cleaning things up..it really does give you a great feeling.

How did you do finding car insurance? Was one company a lot less expensive for the same things?
Glad you got your shopping finished.

    I love that you see the small victories in your life. Really, I'm with Steven, TOM is really affecting you and I think I would put on a really stern face and go to the doc and make them come up with something else to help you. I've had those problems before and never once been told that it would take care of itself over time. I don't know you or your doc, but I honestly think I would be finding a new one if I could. Now you probably wish I had an off button. Hope not too much. Take care.

Well, first on the positive side (at least you did not mention this) your back did not hurt today!

TOM IS a emoticon with you right now!!! I think TOM IS the major issue to bring up with your Doctor!!! He is causing so many of your problems! He makes you weak, upsets your stomach and hurts your back.
