Report on Week 1 of "Back on Track, Jack!"

Wednesday, August 06, 2014

Home a week, and it was a very good week indeed.

emoticon Got back on the diet wagon, and lost some bloat-pounds. I am in my size 8 jean shorts this morning, snug but wearable, so feeling MUCH better!

emoticon Started a brand-spanking new diet notebook and have kept up with it for all 7 days. I have tracked every bite of food, even my snack-happy evening of a few nights ago. That's really a breakthrough for me -- in my quest for perfectionism I OFTEN quit tracking when I binge or FEEL I'm bingeing.

emoticon Are making big progress on our yard. We have 10 acres and it really went to hell-in-a-handbasket in 3 months of no care.

emoticon Back to the fitness center! Did a power pump class yesterday and went very light on the weights -- good thing, my chest muscles are singing today!

Today is one of those annoying days -- a repairman is coming to fix my treadmill, and he'll be here "between 8 am and 5 pm". So I'm stuck in the house until he comes. Hopefully repair guy will come in the morning, but you know how that always goes...

But I'm giving it a positive spin -- it's a good opportunity to clean the house and get the phone calls made and maybe even clean out a few drawers and closets!

Have a happy hump day, fellow Sparklers! emoticon

Travel can certainly knock us off track, but the track is always waiting for us to get back on. Good for you!

Hope the repair dude showed up early for you.
Anyway as I read your blog I noticed a parallel between you and your yard. You are gaining control over both!

Congrats on being back on track and especially for writing down all those "snacky" foods! That's a big step. Onward we go...

What??? You mean you have better things to do with your time than remain "confined to barracks" from 8 am to 5 pm waiting on the pleasure of a repair person? We're not still stuck back in the 1950s? Grrrrrrrrr: pet peeve of mine too!!

Sounds like you really had a great week! (and yes it is annoying to sit around all day for a repairperson!)

Good job jumping back on the bandwagon and pumping it out. Big kudos especially for tracking everything -- such an important step in honesty with the self (the most important step for success I think).

Your Back on Track Jack is going well :)
Keeping 10 acres under control seems like quite a chore, say "workout" :)
Happy house cleaning. Having a clean house is so comforting. I swear it all starts with a clean uncluttered home. Seems to me that when my house is nice and neat so is my head and my life in general.

Loved your blog! I had to smile and LOL as I read it.... oh how I can relate! You could always put a note on your door and have that repair guy fetch you from your yard too! We only have a city sized lot and it is hard to keep up with.... good luck with your 10 acres! Whew!

Keep up the GREAT job! Feels so good to get that positive momentum going again!

I hate that window of 8:00 to 5:00 - that just means they will show up on Wednesday.

I remember one time I had that window but I had to run something to my wife at work - took maybe 15 minutes - yep guy showed up and left a note that we had to reschedule!! Well at least you are making a productive day of it!!

I need to get myself a "diet notebook" I think but would I actually use it beyond the first 3 days?
