Tossing my cookies

Monday, August 04, 2014

As in tossing them in the garbage! We got back from a weekend trip to a family reunion. While it was great to see much of the family, I ended up overindulging a bit. When we got home, there was half a tub of chocolate chip cookies left over from our out of town guests last week. They were a little stale, but I was still tempted to eat one or two. Ok, I splurged a bit over the weekend, but my recovery started when I tossed the cookies in the trash.

After cleaning up, we played a little soccer in the playground behind the house:

Then made some pizza - pepperoni for the kids; pear, walnut, herbed feta, without sauce for DW and me.

This morning we got DD1 off to gymnastics camp and I got in a 7 mile LSR and then back to work.

Whew - good thing you clarified your blog title! I was thinking about something completely different!

Even better that you did toss those blasted things out! Good for you!

The pear, walnut, herbed feta pizza sounds totally yum dude!

But ... as I am pretty new to this running thing ... what does LSR stand for? (I'm thinking I am gonna use you as a resource for some running advice at times if you dont mind.)

It does feel empowering to "toss out" or say "No" to food choices that hinder our goals! emoticon I'm Proud of you!

By the way, your kids are adorable! Enjoy your time with them while you can. Time flys, my oldest will be off to college in 3 days.

Wow.... cookies in the garbage. I usually throw leftover like that in the freezer. You ROCK!

With all the output you do, I don't think a weekend indulge will hurt. At the same time I understand getting back on track quickly. emoticon

Vacations and family can just ruin an eating plan. Glad you are jumping right back in.

Vacations are hard, lol. But you did good, especially with the run and the cookies-throwing-away thing ;-).

Good for you! What willpower! Vacations are bad for me too. I'm still making up for our June vacation spree!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sometimes has to toss cookies in the bin!

Good job, it's hard to throw food away when we've been raised in a "clean your plate" environment. Sometimes its the best thing we can do for ourselves, though!
