Pizza Buffet

I thought I was doing good at the buffet because I only ate one bowl of soup, a small salad and two large slices of pizza. When I home I tracked it , the meal was over 1500 calories. More then enough calories for a day and that was just lunch.

For the month of August I am posting my nutrition and fitness tracker on my Spark page and am posting every thing I eat. My friends now see that I eat good 85% of the time but do eat a little junk food in my day. I am trying to stay away from it but some times it gets in my cart at the supermarket. I am trying to shop along the outside isle of the store but the bakery where I need to stop to get my bread is right on the outside and some times a donut gets in the cart. I now have tracked the calories of that it is 230 and it may now be getting in that cart to often.

I got on the scale and I am up 4 pounds. I know some of that is because I did not take a poop yesterday or today and also some of that might be water weight but most of it is over eating on pizza. I wanted to lose 4 pounds this month now I have 8 pounds to lose. I have started reading my "Spark Solutions" book again and maybe I can get some help in there. Sure couldn't hurt. Plenty of people have lost weight using the diet in there to jump start there weight loss journey.

I have lost 46 pounds and know that how I did it was by eating healthy 85% of the time and exercising six days a week. I take walks and do a streak of push ups, on day 35 of 100 today. I walk over a mile just to get my Starbucks iced coffee every other day or so and walk over 4 miles once a week to get to the library. I am most of the time staying in my calorie allotment by eating lean meat like chicken, fish, vegetables, fruits, whole grain bread and low fat dairy . I weigh and measure my foods and don't just guess on my portion size. I eat slow by putting my fork down and drinking water between bites. I stop eating when full and put the food away or throw it away. I use to give it to my hubby to eat but now he says that gives him to much to eat. We are both working to lose weight, he has gone from size 46 pants to size 40 and I have gone from size 20 to 10.

Before I figured out the calorie count of that pizza buffet I was going to go once a month but now I will think twice about that. I had baked chicken for dinner last night with fresh steamed spinach and whole wheat noodle that I had put light butter spread on with garlic. I liked that meal better then the pizza buffet. No I don't think I will be going back to soon to that pizza buffet.

    Just remember, DO NOT SHOP when you are hungry or thirsty. That's the worst time for things to just 'jump' into the cart! emoticon

    Whenever you get off track, you always, I say always get right back on, you know how to make it better and you keep trying to improve on keeping your meals healthy. Keep up the good job!

    Kathryn, I walk the outer aisles in grocery stores too and when it comes to the bakery, if I really feel I want something, I generally take a fresh bagel home. Toasted & buttered, they are better than donuts, yum!

    Don't fret too much, those buffet style meals can really do us in, even when we think we're doing so well with the food there! Been there, done that!

    I've underestimate calories on MANY occasions too.. It's a learning curve... You do the right things a lot of the time, and u and your hubby are a testament to that. Pizzas pretty salty too, so that , on top of your bathroom issues are the culprit. You never seem to let things go too far before you correct them, And that's because of your HONEST and diligent tracking. You're doing emoticon !!!
