In my little town ...

Saturday, August 02, 2014

I have lived in Catonsville, 21228, C'ville, the '28, the 'Ville, for almost 25 years. Going through my picture I realized that I had very few pictures of this town. We take home for granted I suppose.

My original plan for today was to put the trike on the back of the car, drive up to the NCR (North Central Railroad) Trail and make for Shrewsbury PA. You. Because, Pennsylvania! But I got a call from She (WMBO) that she needed me to do something at 4:30. And since I could not guarantee that I would be back by 4:30, I decided to stick around.

But I still wanted to ride. It wasn't 40 miles. Ir was less than 6 but I took my good camera along and I took pictures of my trike at sites around C'ville. Like the Travelocity Gnome.

The full set is here:

Comments included.

I hope you enjoy this tour.

Welcome to C'ville
The '28. The 'Ville. This is where I live. And that is my 2014 Catrike Expedition.

Knights of Columbus Hall

This particular Knights of Columbus actually played a role in a controversial Vietnam War Protest on My 18, 1968. . The Catonsville Nine burned draft records in the Parking lot.

A bakery and Coffee Shop on Frederick Avenue in Catonsville.

Appalachian Bluegrass Shoppe
The Bluegrass Shoppe at the corner of Frederick Rd and Bloomsbury Ave is a must see for the guitar lover. Emory has guitars, dobros, fiddles, upright bass, mandolin, and dulcimer.

The New Bridge over the Beltway
Frederick Road crosses the Baltimore Beltway (I-695) on this new bridge, three years in the building. The sign attests to Frederick Road's designation as a National Historic Byway.

Life really is great in 21228! I absolutely love living here! My commute is kind of long and crazy and painful but when I get back to cville everything feels nice again! You did a fabulous job showing it off with this blog post!

Also - how do you feel about that new Frederick Rd Bridge? The first time I got off of 695 coming from the south I was super confused!

Such a lovely town. You are very fortunate. Was showing my hubby these photos and he was very interested in your bike. That video you posted a while back (going downhill very fast!) has planted a seed in him which I hope continues to grow. Love your blog!

What a pretty town! Like many things in life, we take our home towns for granted. Bless you for taking the time to appreciate what you have right in front of you - a good reminder to take the time to appreciate the beauty of the every day things. emoticon
