Whole30 day 2 kill all things

Saturday, August 02, 2014

Morning started out great. Finished knitting a hat. Weeded garden that I view from kitchen sink. started to weed and edge the lawn border garden. The bramble is taking over.

I was definitely ready for lunch at noon but I had to wait. Daughter has company and wanted to make quesadillas which was fine but she failed to make one for DH. By the time I slapped his sandwich together I was ravenous and stupidly had not written down the ingredients for making mayo.

I am sure most of you have smart phones so looking stuff up is no prob. And if that is so... you prlly wont understand my state of mind at the moment. We don't use smartphones or wifi. So I patiently waited for desktop to boot-up and Googled it AGAIN. Then I take my list of ingredients to the kitchen and patiently wait for DH to prepare his iced coffee and move along. Trying to make my lunch among the mess of two other lunch preparations. I nearly bit my daughters head off as she walked up behind me, literally under foot.
Mayo was ok, but I need to get a lighter tasting olive oil. Thanks to the directions on whole30 website; I used my stick blender and made it in seconds.
Trying to let go of my bitchiness omg bitchiness passed the spell check but omg doesn't. WTF?....
later the same day...
I have prepped some greens and chicken breast so that I wont run into today's problem again. I also purchased some apple chicken sausage and cherries.
Yesterday we got our weekly csa, we tried roasted daikon for the first time. It tasted like turnip. DH loved it. I thought it was passable but not my favorite. We also had corn. I know this is not allowed, but its fresh local corn, so I am making an exception--let the haters hate!

Today I earned that I can take clippings from some of my impatiens and geraniums and poke them into soil and they will take root. More bang for my buck.

I am happy, earlier I was cranky, but I didn't use it as an excuse to suck on a spoonful of peanut butter. I have found that Celestial Seasonings sleepy time tea makes excellent iced tea. its minty and soothing.
Thank you for reading, Enjoy the rest of your day!

The good news is that the longer you stay on this way of eating the less you have to worry about low blood sugar episodes like these. (My kids have known all their lives that if mom snaps at them they should ask when she last ate and whether there was any protein in it, lol! I don't get those moments much anymore!)

Good for you for not caving in! Planning will do wonders for you!

I am on Day 6. I made the mayo. It was awesome! I will have to see about using stick blender. That would be much easier. Thanks!
