Inquiring Minds Want to Know

Friday, August 01, 2014

I know, did you groan on the title or did it go "whoosh" over your head? I grew up with my parents purchasing the "National Enquirer", then siting around reading and discussing the stories. Back in the day the tabloid used to be filled with many odd human interest stories and a little bit on celebrities. Now it's all celebrities, all the time and very boring. I am off on a tangent though, from the reason I'm writing this blog.

I am curious and hope that you will help me out. In the comment section, feel free to answer the questions and share with others, who like me, may also be wondering. Then again I may only receive 1-2 views from my good friends and I already think I know their answers. That's okay, let's just move on and have fun here. emoticon

1. Why do you read blogs? Entertainment? To learn? Boredom? It was your friend, so you didn't want to hurt her/his feelings by not reading it? Something else?

2. Do you randomly read blogs whether it's someone you know or not? Or do you stay with only your friends and read only their blogs?

3. Are there subjects that you seek out to read in a blog?

4. When you read a blog do you faithfully post - even if it's an emoticon - to show the writere that you read his/her blog?

5. Do you write blogs? Do you have lots of people visit your blogs?

6. Is there any particular subject that interests you? Do you stop reading the blogs of folks who are "serious" in tone? Do you prefer joke type blogs?

I'm curious on all this. I've been watching over the past months and noticed a trend in readship - not specifically talking on my own blog, as I have been watching other blogs and my own behavious when I go to read blogs. I'm curious on all this. Thanks for sharing.

I was here in 2010 with an active page. I wrote a lot of blogs, got a lot of comments and found it time consuming to do the polite thing and thank everyone who left the nice, wise or from the soul comment. Back then I read the blogs of people I found to be interesting writers. That is different for each of us. Usually they were people who were very open type people, losing weight and shared all.

I lost 50 pounds here and now continue to read blogs as they help me keep off my weight. I like reading blogs from people now who are here to really lose weight and live a healthy life and not just here for other reasons.

I found your blog because of a comment from you on Cheri's page and I got curious (nosy).

1. I read blogs for my entertainment. I find them fascinating and I am surprised at how open people are.
2. I read blogs randomly. From the team pages often. Hardly ever from the Best of Spark e-mail.
3. No
4. I probably comment half the time. but not if there are a great many comments.
5.I occasionally write a blog and not many people comment on them. I do often delete my blogs when I feel I have said too much.
6. The only blogs I am not interested in are those where someone lists every exercise they did or every nutrient they took in. I like a story, love photos and enjoy the jokes.

In my family, Mom would buy "National Enquirer" when we would go on camping trips. She'd read a story around the campfire and most would get a good conversation going. Sometimes we'd get up to 5 or 6 stories. I had forgotten all about that until I read your blog. Thanks

Now I think you need to answer the questions for us.

Blogs fascinate me.They are like a window into the soul of the writer.Occasionally I read random blogs but not too often because I don't have time.I spend my time reading my friend's blogs and writing to my friends. Though I have been known to go off on atangent if I see someone post a comment on a friend's blog that intrigues me.I like funny and serious blogs. The title of your blog did not escape me and sometimes I read blogs and think their stories belong in National Enquirer.

    (1) I read blogs to learn about healthy living & to get to know the blogger better.
(2) Randomly. Whenever a blog title sparks my interest.
(3) Not really.
(4) Sometimes.
(5) I very seldom write blogs!
(6) I like both serious and funny blogs depending on the subject.
