FREESTYLE FRIDAY-"FIGHTING WORDS"

Friday, August 01, 2014

Welcome to August My Dear Blessed Family of Light! emoticon

I believe this poem today is a great way to start the FIRST FREESTYLE FRIDAY. We can't hear enough about our MOUTHS! Not just what we put IN them but what comes OUT of them. We ALL have hurled words that hurt and pierce the hearts of others. Words that may cause division and confusion. So this is just a reminder for us ALL. I always say LOVE is the ANSWER to EVERYTHING. When we walk in God's LOVE it will NEVER fail! A soft answer turns away wrath. Bless the LORD! We CAN do ALL things through CHRIST Who gives us HIS strength!!!

“Fighting Words”

My tongue is the pen of a ready writer…
Filled with boldness I’m a heavy fighter-
With words that bring light…
Words that trigger God’s might-
Words that believe and take…
Words that receive by faith…
Before I utter foolishness-
I rather speak holiness…
That’s love without bounds-
Where a forked tongue can’t be found…
That includes any lie-
Red, black or white they must fly…
Ready means I’m available-
And reliable…
Speaking what I hear-
Words from the Spirit I adhere…
He shows me things unknown-
He sings to me heavenly songs…
Removing all darkness-
I’m clothed in righteousness…
My words are few-
But they are true…
How about you?
Don’t you want an unfeigned tongue too?
May my words be acceptable Oh Lord…
May they reflect Yours and not return void-
Vain words are empty…
Speak what God says simply-
Love is the test…
And less-
For many words can end…
In sin-
Being mindful is an easy win…
To say what reflects Jesus-
He left the Teacher with us…
So we have no excuse-
Not to use...
What God has supplied-
Time to decide…
Now to get that tongue in check-
Let…
God arise-
In our lives!

Great poem. Words are so powerful; they can lift up, or destroy people. We definitely need to be careful with them.

This is the one thing many struggle with (myself included)... keeping our mouths in check. We need to immerse the tongue in a cleansing fire - no doubt. I think we'll all be surprised when we get to the finish line - that God will hold our words more accountable than we thought.
emoticon for the reminder!
