WOW! I was doing some exercises last night after the grandchildren went home and after I was warmed up a bit I noticed there was still about 1/2 hour of daylight. So, I put on my running shoes and ran down the road to the neighbors driveway (3/4 of a mile). As I neared the mailbox, I thought back of how I was not able to do this a couple years ago without having to take a walk break.
I ran for 20 minutes before I stopped. That was my goal-it felt so good to be able to run like that. I had a pace of 11'13", not as fast as I would like but I am working toward a steady 11 minute mile for at least 3 miles.
I have some hills on my route that I run and I am sure if I was running where it was flat that I would maybe, just maybe, reach that goal of an 11 minute mile. There is a hill that is near my turnaround and I call it the killer hill. It is not really that big of a hill nor is it a steep grade, but it is one hill that I could never make it up in the past. Now I can!
