Windows 10???

Thursday, July 24, 2014

What should I do? I have Windows 9, but according to :

'Were making updates that may impact your Ancestry experience. Certain features on Ancestry will have reduced functionality or may not be supported when using Internet Explorer 8 or 9. Check out the recommended browsers for more information.'

Someone told me never to download Windows 10, but the girl at said that is what I will need to do. I have trouble trying to break through my brick walls, I may not be able to do anything by Oct. When not a paid member I can get into the transcript of a census record, but not the actual record, makes a big difference sometimes.

Is there a Windows 11? What problems do you know of with Windows 10?

Any help appreciated.

PS. My bad, I'm not computer savvy. I should have asked about updating to Internet Explorer 10 and not windows. I'll have to call Ancestry back and see about Chrome.

I hope HAWKTHREE got that sorted for you?
I was thinking the same way as you! But alarm bells did go off when you changed the name from Windows to Internet Explorer - my hubby and sons are fed up trying to tell me the difference between a system and a browser!

I think you have confused a browser named Internet Explorer with an operating system called Windows.

Internet Explorer is at 9 and 10.
Windows is still in the 8's.

I agree with Janedoe below, there is no Windows 10, so the person may have been confused. Perhaps it is that you need a new browser? In which case, I highly recommend Chrome, as I have yet to have any problems with it. Hope this helps!

I dont think there is a Win 10. I think it is now at Windows 8.1 or 8.2, but of course, I could be wrong. Maybe you misheard the person? I think Windows 10 is a joke,.
