The storm came, it just brought in more moisture. Even I am sweating.

Wednesday, July 23, 2014

DH is always sweating but I am very rarely like that. I have actually changed clothes three times today. I gave up this time I look like a marathon runner.

Oddly enough this morning we walked our 4 miles. Then I had errands and also had to pick everything up just in case it rains and high winds. It was in the 90's the humidity was high too. When we walked I had just the right clothing on The other ladies had jackets on and they were dragging a bit today. It was noon time before I was able to start the grocery shopping.
DH appointment for the cataract evaluation will be at the end of August. We are hoping it will be done but I do not have a clue if it might mess up the degeneration. He still has good vision in one eye and so the Dr. gave him a prescription. We took his other frames and were about to pay $380 for the lenses they were marking the glasses up and I realized he may have to have new lenses after the cataracts are removed. I had to say to DH stop. If you have your intraocular lens as I did we would have that paid by Medicare and those lenses will be like mine just waiting to give them to the ELKS club. The transaction is stopped till the retina specialist explains what we will do.
I did everything wrong and we paid for lenses that were only in my glasses for one month. It was expected I would not need glasses but I had to buy another pair in the price range DH was about to purchase.
On the way out DH thanked me for bringing it up.

DH went to get rid of the brush we had taken down and now we know how the big broken branch is hanging over our Neighbor's back yard. We planted the willow over 40 years ago and after it blew down in the ice storm in the back yard. The tree people could not get in to the corner after it was cut own so it began to grow all over the huge stump. It is a wet area and that is why the willow set out 7 or 8 branches and they are thin branches but extremely high they are trunks but they are about 8 inches across. In the recent wind one high branch has broken but it has not fallen. Tonight we expect high winds and we are very concerned that the branch could damage their garage, even worse their Motor home.
I did call the tree person and he said he will call today or tomorrow.
Bad timing on our part but we just noticed the broken trunk earlier this week.

We do not want the branches being over the next door neighbors fences.
The tree people will be here tomorrow to find out how much it will cost to take so many trunks down. HUGS Pat in Maine.
Thanks my friends for being there. Pat in Maine.

That was great that you remembered about the glasses
just in time. It would have meant spending money for nothing.
I hope Fred can get his cataract evaluation and some positives
next month. Hope you get the tree cleared away soon. Sorry to
hear about the humidity. I hope it cools down for you soon.

Oh my on the trees. We know well what you mean. We had two trees removed this year after a storm came through. We didn't want either one of them to end up on the house. I miss the shade but the removal has brought some comfort and peace. Thoughtful of you to consider your neighbor's fence.

Hope your day is a little cooler. I can stand almost anything but humidity.

We had a BBQ yesterday and all three boys were here (a first in a very long time). I will post some pictures later. The high was 82 and the humidity was low so it was a perfect day for a BBQ. We had a great time and ended the evening by building a fire in the fire pit and making smores.

Do have a very blessed day. Sunny

Glad you caught DH in time to skip the new lenses and save money. As for the tree, at least the neighbors know about it and the tree company is coming to take care of the issue. We had a smidge of rain this morning and hope for more-without the high winds.

The temps here are up and down. I must admit I don't like the 90s with humidity and the upper 80s are uncomfortable here as well.

Your are very considerate of your neighbors regarding the tree. I wish ours were the same way.

I hope your hubby can get the cataract taken care of soon.

We have had terrible humidity also. You start to sweat just stepping outside. Glad hubby is getting on with his eyes. Smart of you to stop the glasses!!
Our back yard is full of trees (grandson calls it "the forest"). We love it but keeping up with them is costly!
Have a great day! Hope the winds did no damage!

i've noticed that rains don't always help with humidity issues - *hate it* when that happens!

I wish the best for your DH with his eye situation!

I love trees but they sure can cause a lot of problems when high winds are involved, I have 2 Maple trees and 2 Evergreens in my yard and they all lose branches when the wind blows. Fortunately no branches have threatened the neighbors property, but I worry about over head wires.

I hope the winds don't do any damage in your area....

    Keep well. emoticon

Another busy day for you!! Quick thinking about the glasses!! No sense in putting that money out twice!!

My hubby is doing well. Home tomorrow. Up and walking around today after PT and again after OT. No pain in his hip but had ankle pain so I told him it was from the ankle exercises he was doing. He did not believe me so I told him to ask the nurse WHO TOLD HIM THE EXACT SAME THING!!! SO home tomorrow and outpatient PT starts on Friday. So glad it is finally over and he will be home!!

    Have a great day tomorrow!!

Sorry that your storm didn't give you relief from the humidity. It's much better here, down to about 20 tonight so I have the windows open and fan running to cool off the house. DH says he will need a blanket soon. Some people are never satisfied! LOL,
