present rule...step-by step

Tuesday, July 22, 2014

As promised, here are some of the results of yesterday's work...

disposables...mainly outdated food...especially spices and their containers (separated out for recycling)...

now the cupboards...spice cabinet...

"dry goods" including honey, homemade cranberry sauce, salsa and maple syrup along with the grains...

tea, coffee, rice, pasta, cereal...and extra light bulbs?...

storage containers, sweeteners, olive oil and popcorn...for DH...

pots, pans and such...

the overall effect...

Today we'll work on the other side of the room...

WOW, your cupboards are looking good, good job...I can hardly wait to see the rest of your kitchen, I'm still amazed in seeing all those bags that were filled and ready for recycle and garbage...You were certainly a busy gal... emoticon Nellie!

Looks good!! I went through all my cupboards not too long ago!! I had so many bowls with lids , too many glass pie plates and kitchen gadgets I barley use any longer. I took the lot of them to an Amish family Sadie just had her 11th child early summer. She was so happy with all the kitchen ware.Made me feel good they were going to a family that would use the items. I do not know about you,but my cupboards look so good ,then before I know it they are all messed up again!! The same way with my closets. I have so many clothes to go through once more !!
Have a blessed night and tomorrow!!

So, are you flying solo on this journey? OR, do you have company, as in, is this a team effort?
To me housework is a team sport. Since I am alone... the team sport projects tend to get left on the sidelines.

  Wonderful accomplishment. Congratulations.
Your kitchen cupboards brought back memories. We had that same hardware in our kitchen in my childhood home.
One comment about your spice rack near the window. I heard that the sun will deplete the strength of the spices. Then again, so does the heat of the oven. It's a quandary. I wish I had enough cupboard space to have one of those drawers dedicated to rows and rows of spice jars. Ah well.

Neat and tidy on one side, work in progress on the other!!
I had the same problem until I gutted my kitchen to the studs and installed pull-out shelves in my cabinets!!
I also planned a regular drawer for my spices. I lay them on their sides and they take up almost now space,, alphabetically too!!
I like how you have things sorted according to types of foods. Smart!

Looks lovely. Want to come do mine? It's 2nd on the list right now. Have to get rid of "stuff" and just haven't taken the time with other projects in the way.
