Finding My Fitness Mojo

Sunday, July 20, 2014

Last week totally sucked all around. Food, fitness, awareness. Whatever you think of, it sucked...

However, today I got my family cleaning house like crazy. It still took all 6 of us nearly an hour to get it done, but it's done! We each took a job or 2 and worked feverishly at it. I took on vacuuming because I wanted the steps and sweat!

Then, I went out to see my BFF as we planned to run even though I really didn't want to. I had seriously even considered staying home, but my kids were looking forward to hanging out with hers. Then I got coffee on my way out and we weren't sure we'd be able to run. So we sat for a bit then decided that even if we just walk it, it's better than nothing!

So off we went! Started with a nice walk and then at one point, my BFF started into a jog saying, "let's go! We can't let that coffee hold us down." We had both been itchin for a long while to run considering last week was so insanely warm. TOO warm out to do any running.

We ran, all the while chatting away about the last couple weeks that we hadn't seen each other and really not paying attention to how far we had gone. The thing I love most about the town she lives in is that it is small and reminds me of the small towns I grew up in! Brought back wonderful memories of 'borrowing' horse back rides and riding bike and playing with friends from dawn until dusk on the barely used roads and no sidewalks.

I've always been a small town girl!

Next thing I knew, we were hitting our 2mi mark. How that happened I had no idea. For the majority of it, we were set at a fairly good pace. It worked out to just under 15mins/mi which is great for me, but we have certainly done better. But we weren't racing... ;)

We even got to enjoy some of the show n shine that was happening at the elementary school on the way back to her place. I was so proud of my run today. It built up enough motivation from that run that I did a bunch of sit ups, crunches and even 10 pushups when we got back! WOO!

I felt so good!

When I got home, I mowed the lawn! I just suddenly had energy that needed to be expended and the grass just happened to need a trimming! After lunch, I even mopped the floors and played fetch with my BC before the thunderstorm hit our area. It was a really great day and I think I found my mojo again!

Now, to get that bad eating under control....nom nom...

Oh Wow! Awesome Shay, and you know what, YOU have just motivated me into action just through sharing your day. Since I just returned from my vacation, I was wiped out after the 12 hour journey turned into 14 with two wrong turns after dark. And we were almost home too. But, it zapped our energy. So we barely moved, except I walked DD dogs. Yesterday my daughter asked me to take a walk together. It was invigorating.Just like your blog. I go in fits and spurts too, so once I get started, there's no stopping me. This just reminded me of how I work, and how much I want to get done today.
I LOVE SP, because of these shared, invigorating moments!!!
Thanks Shay!!!
