Great Sunday

Sunday, July 20, 2014

Activity tracker: Finally made it to grocery store,, stopped at Dad's house to get mail; took a trip to the state recreation area for a hike on the beach. We also did the trails and checked out the wildlife..

We saw some small bluegill and smallmouth bass in the shallows near the swan nest.. people fishing nearby had no idea they were in the wrong spot to catch fish..saved these little guys lives..
As I was going down the trail, I almost bumped into a doe and her two fawns! A few feet away, as I froze for DD to take a pic of mama and I, doe ran onto the boardwalk to the beach.

I started walking again, but suddenly a spotted fawn appeared in front of me, so I froze again for DD pic.
Fawn ran back into lagoon area and we saw another fawn with her!!

We spent two hours hiking and talking with park visitors from out of town.
Had lunch, am home and watched a nature show through my eyelids!!

Time to regroup to rise at four tomorrow for work... 25 days to vacation!

Sounds like an awesome day. Wish I could have seen all that. What a great day. I hope you will be able to post one of those pictures. Where I live, there is a wooded area next to my apt. with a creek and I used to see deer at the edge of the woods. Have had coyotes out there too, but they have done so much construction in this area they have all disappeared. But I still see squirrels and rabbits and lots of different types of birds. Love seeing nature. I am glad you had this experience. God bless you evening. Hugs, Judy
