" If the only tool you have is a hammer , you tend to see every problem as a nail.' Abraham Maslow
Yes!! I have been hammering away at my weight loss. I have been hammering away at the goo and the yuk and the unwanted pounds. I have been hammering away at getting rid of junk food and prepackaged food, and the late night binges. I have been hammering away at the unwanted stress and drama in my life.
But sometimes you need a much lighter tool . Sometimes all that is needed is a feather . Feather pillows that help you sleep better. Feather pillows and lightly scented candles that I surround myself with when I do my meditation. How I lightly feather my breathing as I marvel at the stain glass windows and look reverently at the cross as I kneel in the cool church in the early morning. Or how I breathe as light as a feather as I join my breathing with the movement as I do my yoga , Pilates, and stretching exercises. Sometimes your breathing slightly stills as you walk through a meadow or forest , and see an animal in its habitat , as the sun slightly dabbles through the cool trees.
Yes we need to hammer , but we also need to feather and calm our breathing and our mind. We need peace and a chance to recharge . We need stillness , and tranquility . When we let out troubles melt away then we will really find the peace we need and the weight will fall off more easily. It will be easier for us to pick the healthiest food available to is. It will be easier for us to have the energy to begin and to love our exercises . It will be easier to lose weight .
As you enjoy this Sunday , and spend time with family and friends .May you keep your hammer and feather close at hand and heart. Hugs Happiness and Healthy Living
