Time for an update

Saturday, July 19, 2014

I have updated my sparkpage, now time for a blog!
A lot has been going on.....

I have given up my trainer (or maybe she gave up on me!). I am so frustrated but that's ok, I am moving on........back in October when I applied for my new position I had told her that I may not be able to workout as much as I had been with her as I would be out of town all week. She said, no problem, we will work something out. Yeah right! Anyhow, as you know I got the position and have been away a lot. I kept in touch with her and was attending another gym (still in the same company) closer to my work. She decided that as a special favor, she did not do this for just anyone (sure!) that she would work out with me on Saturdays and would run 2 sessions with her together to which I agreed. Then after a few weeks, she was talking to me about working with another trainer on Saturdays to which I said no. The reason I was working with her was because she has lost a lot of weight herself and seemed to understand (at the beginning anyhow!) I did not want to work out with a male. She agreed and said OK we will continue as we are, then a couple of weeks later she calls me and tells me that either I can work out with someone else or I can get all my money back for the sessions that I had paid for (over $1000). I had been asking if this was a possibility for months and was told no! But now that it suits her, it is now an option?? As I have mentioned before I had hurt my shoulder and instead of physio I was working with her to strengthen that too. So I guess I am now on my own! I am very frustrated and hurt about this as I have been with her for a year! I think she has lost the initial reason why she began as a trainer.

On a brighter note, my DD has got a job near where I live, so she has moved in with me! We go swimming every night after work and that is helping my shoulder!

I am attending weight watchers and wearing my fit bit. For now, I will try the swimming and walking, forget about the gym for now. Though I do have a yoga mat, ball and weights at home :)

Thanks for reading my rav!

Well, it sounds like you have the right attitude. It is okay to be frustrated, but you did not let this derail you. You came up with a new plan. Good for you!!!! emoticon

So sorry to hear about this. You are probably better off without that trainer. I hope you can actually get your money back-that would be good. I think your plan of swimming and walking is a good one. Also there are free workout videos here at spark.
So glad Rachel has a job where you two can enjoy some time together........
