I finally got up the courage to step on the scale today for the first time since 5/31. The damage wasn't as bad as I'd feared. In fact, I guessed my weight to be 8 pounds higher than it actually was, which was good news (and also shows how poor I am at estimating my own weight).
With that information in hand, I was able to re-set my goal to get an accurate calorie range for each day. I have an event coming up in early September and would like to lose 7 pounds by then. Pretty sure I can do it!
The second step in getting some control back in my diet and exercise habits was to go to the SP menu planner and set myself up for the next week. I find it helpful to use SP's meal plans when I really need to buckle down and kick-start my weight loss. So that's what I did.
I'd wanted to start back at the gym on Monday, but my workload simply isn't going to allow it. So, I inked gym time into my planner starting Friday and for the following two weeks. A little extra calorie burn plus rigorous tracking should have me slimmed back down in no time!
I'm feeling more optimistic after writing this down. I appreciate everyone who comments on the blog. You all inspire me to create success.
