Woke up early today, forced myself to go back to sleep since it was only 2 am.
Woke up again at 5 am, took measurements, decided to go running. Watched the sunrise during the run, I thought that I should have brought my camera or used my cell phone to capture the moment but instead, I just let it go. If I want to capture the sunrise, I'll head over to spot overlooking the NY City skyline when the goal is to take pictures not run.
Ran concentrating on proper form for 2 miles, 170-180 heart rate (HR), 13:20 pace.
Still felt strong so I continued speed walking another 4 laps (1 mile), 145-150 HR.
Still felt strong after 3rd mile, sped walked the turns, ran concentrating on form on 100 m straightaways. Nearly completed the 5th lap (4.20 miles) when the hour was up. 145-160 HR
Finished up by speed walking last 3 laps = 5 miles total, 133-145 HR.
It's def. a personal best @ 220.6 lbs. I'll take Sunday off and try to to run again on Monday. I don't plan on pushing myself with weights since I'm still on my brother's vegan regimen.
I'm not sure the source of my motivation but I'm thankful for it. Maybe my failure in Thailand is forcing me to bounce back in one part of my life. When this part is completed, time to work on the other part of it & figure out what I really want, what I need (besides losing weight), and what I have to do about it all.
Time is now.
